Despite the assurance by Haryana Roadways officials that all the 50 AC city buses that were due to arrive in the city would be on the road before Diwali it seems doubtful if the Roadways would be able to introduce new buses before Diwali.

GURGAON: Despite the assurance by Haryana Roadways officials that all the 50 AC city buses that were due to arrive in the city would be on the road before Diwali it seems doubtful if the Roadways would be able to introduce new buses before Diwali.
Haryana Roadways officials are clueless about when the remaining 18 AC buses would be introduced as the new general manager of Haryana Roadways is yet to take office.

While Surinder Singh, GM of Haryana Roadways Gurgaon, has been transferred and in his place Yashendra Singh has been posted again. Singh is yet to take up his new job at Gurgaon depot.
"It is difficult to tell when the remaining new AC buses will arrive in Gurgaon. Right now we have 32 AC buses running in the city. Hopefully, these buses will arrive by the end of November but we are not sure," said an official of the traffic department of Haryana Roadways.
As regards new routes, Haryana Roadways was also supposed to introduce a few new routes before the Diwali. Now it is to be seen whether they would be able to introduce new routes before Diwali.
"Last Monday the Roadways had introduced Sector 22 and Dwarka routes. This was one of the long-pending demands of the residents of Sector 22 and Sector 23. Now the residents are happy with the move. The buses are running at an interval of half an hour," said Navneet Kumar Bajaj, chief duty inspector of Haryana Roadways Gurgaon.
Right now 20 Volvo buses are operating from Gurgaon depot of which 18 are running to Chandigarh and one each to Dehradun and Agra.
A source in Haryana Roadways said this time they were also planning to introduce buses in different colonies, sectors and in the interior parts of the City. Residents are also demanding to improve bus service to Pataudi, Manesar and Farrukh Nagar areas.
